Woolacombe

The plan is to walk across the fields (2.5 miles) to Woolacombe, well that was before the daylong deluge, which began last night. I suppose the upside is that it effects the whole country.

I woke at 5'oclock this morning with the sound of the rain, the sudden realisation that the awning tends to puddle in down pours like this, triggered a response to wake up,   I grabbed the nearest water proof jacket and opened the door. Still wearing my pyjama bottoms, I quickly emptied the bowl of water that hung down before me, then detached the awning from the van before retiring back to bed.

It was a late breakfast; some haddock fishcakes new recipe, we are trying from Lydl and a poached egg. The radio is on ( The Archers omnibus), turned up loud enough to be heard above the noise of the rain pounding the tent.

So here I am updating the blog, sipping a cup of tea having just walked 6 miles in the pouring rain.Am I wet through? yes I am, but a change of clothing will soon sort that out.
